So, I miss all the updates people use to do on facebook. This blog was suppose to encourage more of that, but instead the updates have decreased. I am not a fan of punishment, and so instead I have devised a plan that will give encouragements for weekly-ish updates.
Every player now has the possibility of earning a tenth of their next level in xp each week. I will detail below how the xp can be earned. Most of these will NOT earn you the full tenth, but will rather earn you a portion of the desired prize. Some of these may be handled on Facebook, but I would like to see more of it here because it's easier to keep track of things (I think, though you're not required to agree).
1) Post your character sheet on your character's page
2) Shopping lists and wish lists and birthday lists (birthday lists are for your birthday present, given
in-game...remember Perf's Deck of Many Things? Yeah, you can get some epic stuff for your birthday)
3) In-Game conversations that can be handled here rather than at the table (facebook also works for this)
4) Story recap's
5) Character drawing (or good reference photo if you don't have the energy/time/talent to do one yourself).
To really get full credit on this one you can't just be spamming the blog or facebook with images. they
have to be relevant to the story and what's going on, reflecting any changes or experiences your
character has gone through.
6) Additional back story information; including history, family tree, politics, etc.
7) Whatever else you can think of and post it.
I, as the admittedly biased judge, will determine the amount of xp received by each submitter.
I understand that not everyone has the same talents as everyone else
when it comes to writing, or drawing, or whatever, and that people are
busy with their various lives. I do not expect any of you to actually
earn the full amount of bonus xp every week, this is merely a way for me
to give incentive for you to be more involved here, and also to
hopefully get some of the business out of the way before sitting down to
sessions
And as a final note, some have mentioned that they forget to check the blog for other people's updates, so help them out and post a link to your update on facebook. If you don't know how, I can show you the next time we get together.
